Letters from Iwo Jima

I watched this Movie" Letters From Iwo Jima". I was kinda interested in this movie since I went back home(Japan) for holidays.
It was about the war in little island in Japan. I guess This Island is still Japan.

well I was surprised.Because this was the first time I watched so casual Japanese Movie. Usually, The war movies, around that time, In typical movie, the scrip is not that casual. Suprisingly though, casual conversation was going on in this movie. It was really nice, because it was easy to understand, but at the same it kinda lost the seriousness and I don't know how to explain this but it was really casual.


I just wonder why there are so many w ar movies? Not to forget about it? But I think to me, it just reminds me of how horrible it was and let us say in this movie, I just thought americans were awful. I don't think this was the point of this movie. I don't hate americans. The war itself was wrong and japanese or americans? those people just had to be there and had to fight.
I don't know, I think serious movies are not for me.
